Ignition Rebuild & Repair

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram use a common ignition. This ignition often needs to be removed, cleaned, and rebuilt. Northland Locksmith is able to come out to your vehicle and repair your ignition on location. We have found that a combination of weakening springs, and “sticky” internal components cause these to fail. Sometimes bent wafers cause these failures and need to be removed and other times the parts are literally sticky.

When the wafers can’t move freely, they cant move to the correct position. When they can’t reach the correct position the key cannot unlock the lock so that you may turn it.

Ignitions that are in need of repair look like this:

When these ignitions go bad the the springs are no longer strong enough to move the wafers up against the key.

A good ignition has wafers which are allowed to move freely, those look like this:

When the wafers can move freely the ignition looks like this.

In either case we can come repair your ignition and get you back on the road. Don’t get your car towed to a a mechanic, you would be throwing away money. Call us and we can make the repair fast and affordable.

Need your Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep locks re-keyed? We can use your existing locks, and rebuild them to eliminate lost or stolen keys!

Often our customers call us whilst trying to reclaim a recovered stolen vehicle. More often then not when a stolen vehicle is recovered the keys are missing still. Many people are unaware that automotive insurance often covers the cost of having your locks changed. Having your locks changed allows you to rest easy knowing your property is secure once more.
